The Triple Play REALTOR Convention and Trade Expo opens today in Atlantic City, NJ. Even if you didn't pre-register, you should still make the trip to Atlantic City and register on-site.

• Tuesday, December 4, 7:30 a.m. – 6 p.m.
• Wednesday, December 5, 7:30 a.m. – 6 p.m.

New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg has announced two proposals designed to provide property tax relief to New Yorkers hit hardest by Superstorm Sandy. The first measure would provide homeowners whose houses need extensive structural repairs or demolition interest-free extensions on their property tax bills until April 1, 2013. The second proposal would reimburse about 900 property owners for a portion of property taxes they paid this year to reflect the homes' diminished post-storm value.

The New York State Department of Environmental Conservation (DEC) has released a revised set of proposed regulations for hydraulic fracturing and will begin taking public comment on the new regulations in December. The voluminous document was made public by the DEC on its website on November 28, a day before the deadline for adopting rules for the controversial drilling process known as "fracking."
