NYSAR 2012 President Susan Goldy, President-elect Margaret Hartman and Secretary/Treasurer JP Endres Fein took the oath of office last week during the Mid-Winter Business Meetings. In addition, New York State Lieutenant Governor Robert Duffy updated meeting attendees on Gov. Andrew Cuomo's legislative initiatives. Click here to learn more.
 
In its U.S. Foreclosure Market Report for January 2012, RealtyTrac Inc. reported New York State had 1,672 total foreclosures, a decrease of 7.68 percent from December and a decrease of 42.05 percent from January 2011. New York State ranked number 47 of all 50 states for monthly total foreclosure filings. Click here to learn more.
 
GOVERNMENT AFFAIRS
As part of the NYSAR Mid-Winter Business Meetings held this past week Albany, NY, the RPAC Trustees approved a motion for NYSAR to endorse Sen. Kirsten Gillibrand in her upcoming race for the U.S. Senate. The Legislative Steering Committee also approved NYSAR's 2012 Legislative Priorities. Click here to learn more.
 
The Senate Banking Committee has informed NAR that the additional G-Fee has been removed from consideration as part of the Payroll Tax extension. Thank you for responding to the Call for Action on this issue and keep up the good work. Click here to learn more.
