NRMCA Senior Director, Local Paving, Ken Justice recently conducted two separate contractor training seminars in Lawrence and Wichita, KS, respectively. The classes concentrated on concrete finishing techniques for pavements and were hosted by the Kansas Ready Mixed Concrete Association (Jerry Younger, shown here standing at far right) and Ash Grove Cement.

In addition to learning about concrete finishing, a session on concrete field testing was taught by Rusty Owings of NRMCA Producer member Geiger Ready Mix. After the class sessions, there were live demonstrations on a concrete placement and concrete testing. Each session had over 30 attendees representing over a dozen different municipalities and several contractors.

Speakers includes NRMCA Vice President, Local Paving, Don A. Clem, PE, and American Concrete Pavement Association CO/WY Paving Engineer Jamie Johnson, PE.
