NRMCA has updated the checklist and Powerpoint presentation “Code and Standards Requirements for Acceptance Testing.” The updates incorporate language pertinent to testing in the current version of the AIA MasterSpec (December 2018) version and suggestions in “Who is Watching out for the Cylinders?” published in Concrete International, August 2018. The presentation discusses the following, citing references in industry standards.

NRMCA Senior Vice President, Local Paving, Phil Kresge recently participated in the Ohio Concrete Association’s (OCA) Concrete Contractor Seminar in Lima, OH. Kresge’s presentation, “Zero Defects Concrete,” focused on common surface defects in flatwork concrete and how to avoid them. Other related topics included Introduction to Concrete Admixtures, Concrete Forensics Petrography and Understanding the Importance of Concrete Field Testing. Additionally, presentations were given on decorative concrete and LEED v4.1.

The event was held at Rhodes State College and was attended by over 60 concrete contractors and producers. The program was organized by Wayne Moening, OCA’s Northwest Regional promotion director.
