The estimated ready mixed concrete produced in January is 21.1 million cubic yards, 3.1% lower than that in January 2024.

Ready mixed concrete production is estimated from cement shipments reported by the U.S. Geological Survey. More detail is available here for NRMCA members under Production Statistics.

Each year, NRMCA reviews candidates to serve on its Board of Directors. The Nominating Committee will review submissions during its meeting this fall and determine the slate of Board nominees and state association representatives to be presented to the membership during the Annual Business Meeting next March.

The Nominating Committee encourages nominations from diverse backgrounds to ensure the Board of Directors is reflective of the Association’s membership. The basic requirements, in addition to a willingness to be an active and engaged participant, stipulate that each candidate must be committed to promoting NRMCA programs and work in the best interest of the membership and industry while operating in accordance with NRMCA’s Strategic Plan and Vision 2030 objectives. The Board provides strategic direction, fiduciary oversight and governance of the organization’s operations. NRMCA Producer members in good standing are eligible to serve.

Click here to review the NRMCA Board Job Description. To nominate a candidate, please complete and submit this form to Heather Houck. Self-nominations are accepted. The deadline for nominations is Friday, July 25.

NRMCA Senior Director, Building Innovations, Brandon Wray, has discussed sustainable concrete practices and performance-based specifications with APMI, a prominent southwest designer. Recently, Wray presented The Top 10 Ways to Reduce Concrete’s Carbon Footprint to APMI’s Phoenix office, highlighting ways to efficiently specify and procure low carbon concrete while quantifying carbon reductions. Following the presentation, Wray worked directly with a few office principals on specific projects; the firm needed guidance on such hot industry topics as LEED requirements, owner carbon goals and performance specs.

“This is where Build With Strength shines,” said Wray. “Our roles as trusted experts and consultants can help designers break through to modern methodologies while highlighting the benefits of concrete as the prime material of choice.”
