NRMCA Senior Director, Building Innovations, Brandon Wray recently put resilient and sustainable concrete resources and solutions on display at the Structural Engineers Association of California’s (SEAOC) annual conference held in San Diego. Primary topics of discussion with the nearly 500 attendees included recent resilience efforts through the Building With Resilience initiative, performance-based specifications, and low carbon concrete materials and strategies. Wray was joined by Jim Little of NRMCA Producer member National Ready Mixed Concrete Company who highlighted recent advancements in blended cements, specifically NRMCC’s limestone calcined clay cement (LC3). (Wray is seen here at left with Little.)
Build With Strength left the conference with numerous requests for direct support, education and consulting for firms throughout the Pacific Southwest as they continue their push toward implementing low carbon concrete and performance-focused specifications.
