Build With Strength Presents at ACI Intermountain December Luncheon in Utah

NRMCA Senior Director, Building Innovations, Patrick Matsche presented Concrete Sustainability: Quantifying and Decarbonizing Concrete - How Prescriptive Specs Limit Sustainability in December in Sandy, UT. The event, held with the support of the Utah Ready Mixed Concrete Association (URMCA) Executive Director Brad Stevenson, focused on specifiers of ready mixed concrete. Matsche (seen here at right with ACI Intermountain's Tammy Meldrum), noted that sustainability within Utah is gaining momentum and the ready mixed concrete industry is taking a leadership role in that effort.

NRMCA, the ACI Intermountain Chapter, URMCA and industry leaders across Utah discussed how decarbonizing the built environment today and in the future will take shape. Concrete is the backbone of modern society. What does the future hold?

The American Concrete Institute (ACI) Intermountain Chapter was founded in 1983 to further the education of concrete in relation to technical practice, scientific investigation and research. In addition to Utah, the chapter covers Southern Idaho, Western Wyoming and Southwestern Montana.

The Build With Strength platform is a leader in supporting structural engineers, architects, end users and specifiers in achieving low carbon, high-performance concrete. For more information, contact Patrick Matsche at pmatsche@nrmca.org or 415-672-5275.
