Monarch Cement Company - NRMCA Associate member Monarch Cement Company and Evergy Energy Solutions have announced a partnership on a solar project that company officials expect to serve as a model for the cement industry’s use of renewable energy. With the capacity to generate 20 megawatts of clean electricity, the project is designed to offset a significant portion of Monarch’s energy consumption, reducing greenhouse gas emissions. The project will be located on Monarch’s property in Humboldt, KS. Construction is expected to begin this spring.

Dolese Bros. Co. - NRMCA Producer member Dolese Bros. Co. has appointed Leland Meiser company president. He will report to Dolese CEO Mark Helm. Mr. Meiser has been with Dolese for 34 years, most recently as vice president of the Aggregates Division. Before that, he held leadership roles in the company’s concrete and aggregates divisions, helping to establish Dolese’s concrete business in the Tulsa, OK, market and, most recently, developing its aggregates business in the Fort Worth, TX, market.

CRH - NRMCA Producer member CRH has announced that its venture capital unit, CRH Ventures, has launched an accelerator program for start-ups titled Roads of the Future. The program targets promising start-ups in the construction technology (ConTech) and ClimateTech space, focusing on groundbreaking innovation for advancing the future of roads. The Roads of the Future accelerator will identify companies that can demonstrate solutions to specific challenges within three distinctive segments of the roads ecosystem; Smart and Safe Roads, Green and Resilient Roads, and Productivity in Road Construction.
To participate in the program, applications must be submitted through the CRH Ventures website by March 28. Evaluations will then take place throughout April and May, with the pilot phase running from June to December.
