President Biden Signs Historic Infrastructure Bill

Last week, President Joe Biden signed the Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act (IIJA) into law. This legislation marks a historic $1 trillion investment in America’s infrastructure over the next five years. The bill includes both a five-year surface reauthorization and an additional $550 billion in infrastructure funding.
Included in the additional $550 billion is an additional $110 billion to roads and bridges, $40 billion for rail, $55 billion for water infrastructure $25 billion toward airports. The bill also includes environmental permitting reforms, dedicated funding for bridge repair and replacement, and major projects and investments in resiliency. The enactment of the IIJA marks a huge win for the concrete and construction industry. Many NRMCA members contributed their time and effort in lobbying for the bill over the last several years.
