NRMCA, Allied Associations Submit Comments at House Resiliency Hearing

Last week, NRMCA, NSSGA and PCA submitted joint comments in support of resilient construction at a hearing of the House Transportation and Infrastructure Committee’s Subcommittee on Economic Development, Public Works and Emergency Management. The hearing, Building Smarter: The Benefits of Investing in Resilience and Mitigation, focused on the importance of building stronger to avoid the social, economic and environmental costs of rebuilding.

The groups’ joint comments focused on the importance of building to a resilient standard and highlighted the sustainability of concrete construction in producing disaster-resistant buildings, infrastructure and communities. Rep. Daniel Webster (R-FL), a longtime industry champion, submitted the comments to the record on behalf of the ready mixed concrete industry.
