NRMCA Updates Pervious Concrete Contractor Certification Program

The long-awaited updates to NRMCA’s Pervious Concrete Contractor Certification Program have now been completed and roll-out of the latest version is underway, said Senior Vice President, Local Paving, Phil Kresge. NRMCA is asking current Local Sponsoring Groups (LSG’s) to renew their intent to administer the program and to update contact information. E-mails are being sent to each LSG and include re-approval applications.

With help from industry practitioners, NRMCA staff have made a significant revision to the Pervious Concrete Contractor Certification text. “The revised text incorporates the latest technology and standards on the installation and uses of pervious concrete. Every effort has been taken to make sure the text reflects the state-of-the-art practices from the pervious concrete community,” Kresge said. “We could not have completed the revisions without the assistance of the industry experts. We thank them for their support and their patience.” A complimentary copy of the new text will be mailed to the LSG primary contact once each group’s re-approval application has been received.

Additionally, a new training presentation has been developed to support the text. The presentation can be used by LSG’s for their certification classes and can be modified, as needed, by trainers looking to “localize” the training. NRMCA will host a Webinar on Tuesday, November 20, at 2 p.m. Eastern time to review the changes to the text. Invitations to the Webinar will be sent to all LSG’s following receipt of their re-approval applications.
