New Pave Ahead Promotional Collateral Now Available

Building on the recent launch of the Pave Ahead educational campaign and Web site, NRMCA has added several new pieces of collateral to support the local paving promotion effort. Individual flyers focus on conventional concrete parking lots, pervious concrete, roller-compacted concrete and concrete overlays. The one-page flyers are Conventional Concrete: The Pavement That Goes the Distance; How Pervious Concrete Works; Roller-Compacted Concrete: Heavy Duty Pavement for the Heaviest Traffic; Concrete Overlays: A New Lease for Old, Damaged Pavement and The Road to Better Paving Starts with Concrete. They're now available for download at www.paveahead.com/resources.

There are also several case studies highlighting individual projects from around the country. "No one wants to be the first to try something,” says NRMCA Vice President, Local Paving, Phil Kresge. “Time and again, we are asked ‘where has this been done before?’ These case studies are notable examples of concrete pavement in practice. They provide the promoter with a positive response to the customers’ concerns.” Kresge adds that NRMCA looks to develop additional case studies and asks for member assistance in collecting the necessary information.

Using the Web site as a clearing house for information, news and paving related content, the Pave Ahead educational goal is to highlight concrete’s advantages as a roadway and paving construction material. The Web site also serves as a portal to the pavement design center and NRMCA’s Design Assistance Program (DAP). “The idea behind Pave Ahead isn’t to sell more concrete. Concrete sells itself,” says NRMCA President Robert Garbini. “Instead, we are connecting our expertise and our experts to decision-makers in the marketplace so that they might better understand the paving options available to them before they make a significant investment they might come to regret.”
