Representing NRMCA at the just-concluded American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE) 2025 Structural Engineering Institute (SEI) Congress was Dr. Julian Mills-Beale, director of civil/structural codes and standards. Dr. Mills-Beale participated in the Multi-hazard Mitigation Committee and Sustainability Committee meetings, contributing ideas that promote innovative, resilient and sustainable concrete for construction. It is also worth noting that NRMCA joined discussions with architects, designers and engineers on the Structural Engineers' (SE) 2050 Commitment Program to “Educate, Engage, Report and Advocate” for sustainable design and construction.

For more information about NRMCA’s civil/structural codes and standards advocacy efforts, contact Julian Mills-Beale at jmills-beale@nrmca.org.
