NRMCA recently participated in the 2025 Tennessee Building Officials Conference (TBOC) held from April 14 to 16 in Gatlinburg. Dr. Julian Mills-Beale, director of civil/structural codes and standards, led and taught two International Code Council (ICC) preferred courses – 3D Printed Concrete Technology and NRMCA 100 Design Standards for Exterior Concrete Walls for One- and Two-Family Dwellings. The Tennessee Concrete Association (TCA) led by Executive Director Alan Sparkman also exhibited at the conference, showcasing the superior performance of concrete as the design material of choice.

The occasion also afforded NRMCA the opportunity to join building and code professionals throughout Tennessee to discuss, educate, promote and advocate for construction that protects public health, safety and welfare in the state.

For more information about NRMCA’s civil/structural codes and standards advocacy efforts, contact Julian Mills-Beale at jmills-beale@nrmca.org.
