NRMCA Advocates for Standards for Heating, Cooling Engineers

Print this Article | Send to Colleague

NRMCA recently participated in the 2025 ASHRAE (American Society of Heating, Refrigerating and Air-Conditioning Engineers) 90.1 SSPC spring meeting at society headquarters in Atlanta. Senior Director, Energy Codes and Standards, Darryl Dixon and his colleague Julian Mills-Beale, director, codes and standards, participated in 90.1 Envelope Subcommittee meetings on energy standards for sites/buildings. As members of several ASHRAE’s project committees (SSPC), the codes and standards team votes on proposals and initiatives that clarify thermal resistance and envelope performance of wall assemblies and building materials.

ASHRAE Project Committees (PCs) continually develop new standards and guidelines and revise current ones so they reflect technical advances in the areas they cover. Through its engagement, NRMCA helps ensure that energy efficient and sustainable concrete solutions receive due consideration in industry standards.
