NRMCA Names North Dakota Man 2024 Driver of the Year

NRMCA has named Richard (Ricky) Fulda of Producer member Dickinson Ready Mix the 2024 Ready Mixed Concrete Delivery Professional Driver of the Year. A national panel of industry judges selected Mr. Fulda as the top driver from a near record number of outstanding applicants from across the U.S. Mr. Fulda, whose home plant is located in Dickinson, ND, was honored for his career achievements, outstanding safety record, professionalism, driving competency and customer service skills. His extraordinary safety record includes a 36-year career with no on-the-job accidents and no at-fault rejected loads. Ricky also drives a front-end loader, snowplow, excavator, backhoe, dump truck, roll-off truck and is a certified NRMCA Concrete Delivery Professional.

Mr. Fulda was also recently named the North Dakota Ready Mix and Concrete Products 2023 Driver of the Year. On Mr. Fulda’s application, Dickinson Ready Mix Operations Manager Dave Grinsteinner wrote, “Ricky is such a great morale booster. Whether it’s a customer, company employee or even the company owner, no one leaves Ricky’s presence without a smile on their face."

The judges also selected two runners-up, Raymond J. Barrera from Superior Materials, VCNA, in Detroit and Carlos Palacios of Chaney Enterprises, from Spotsylvania, VA.

As the winner of the 2024 award, Mr. Fulda will receive a $5,000 check from the Truck Mixer Manufacturers Bureau. As runners-up, Mr. Barrera, and Mr. Palacios will each receive a check for $1,500. The 2024 Driver of the Year winners will be honored at NRMCA’s Annual Convention held March 18 - 21 in Tampa, FL. The Chicago-based trade magazine Concrete Products is a cosponsor of the NRMCA Driver of the Year program.
