NRMCA Discusses Embodied Carbon Before Western Pennsylvania Audience

On October 24, NRMCA Senior Director, Building Innovations, Frank Mruk discussed how building owners and contractors are prioritizing embodied carbon at the Western Pennsylvania Masters Builders Association's Embodied Carbon 201 event held in Pittsburgh. In addition to Mruk (seen here in front of podium), speakers included a welcome and introduction by Master Builders Association of Western Pennsylvania's Dave Daquelente; opening comments by PJ Dick and Turner Construction (Noah Shaltes and Tara Connor); presentation by Pittsburgh Carbon Leadership Forum and WAP (Julia Wattick and Alex Co); glass presentation by Vitro North America (Justin D’Alessandro); steel presentation by NUCOR Steel (John Cooper); interiors presentation by Mohawk (Jennifer Prevade); architect perspective by Perkins Eastman (Jane Hallinan) and contractor perspective by Turner Construction Company (Kayla Reddington and Tara Connor). Closing remarks were by Tim Mackin, MBA director of services and operations; 50 MBA members attended the event.

Master Builders Association of Western Pennsylvania, Inc. is a trade association whose membership includes more than 255 of the top general contractors, construction managers, specialty contractors, and service and supplier companies in the region's commercial construction industry. Collectively, the membership accounts for more than 80 percent of the commercial construction in the area. Members of the MBA are also members of the Associated General Contractors of America.
