On a beautiful, hot summer Colorado day, around 60 attendees from local cities and counties, engineers and contractors as well as concrete industry representatives observed the concrete overlay placement at the East Economy Parking Lot, located at the southeast corner of Denver International Airport, reports NRMCA Vice President, Local Paving, Don Clem. The open house was co-sponsored by the American Concrete Pavement Association (ACPA) Colorado/Wyoming Chapter, IHC Scott and NRMCA. Guests were treated to ringside seats to view the paving operation while enjoying a hosted lunch.

Alec Wieczorek, DEN AIM Development-Infrastructure; Anthony Wiarda and Joe Satriana of IHC Scott; Angela Folkestad and Sarah Dalton of the local ACPA chapter and Don Clem mingled among attendees (shown here, getting a close look at the concrete overlay construction), answering questions regarding the project and the concrete overlay process. The 21-acre project is expected to be completed in time for the fall travel season.
