NRMCA Verifies EPD Under New Reduced Rate for Additional Plants

NRMCA recently verified a system-level Environmental Product Declaration (EPD) for NRMCA Materials Division member Lehigh Cement. This latest EPD follows several verified for Lehigh Cement this year; because this verification comes less than six months after Lehigh Cement’s latest EPD verification, Lehigh was able to take advantage of NRMCA’s Level 2 hourly rate of $300/hour for members ($450/hour for nonmembers). The EPDs were developed in consultation with Athena Sustainable Materials Institute and based on a software tool created by the Global Cement and Concrete Association (GCCA). The underlying life cycle data for each plant and EPDs were reviewed and verified by EcoForm, a verifier in NRMCA’s EPD program.
Public access to the EPD is available on the NRMCA EPD webpage and is listed as NRMCA EPD: 20067 Lehigh Cement. This EPD reports the impacts for four bulk cement mixes from one plant in Glens Falls, NY.
