Build With Strength (BWS), in collaboration with the Connecticut Concrete Promotion Council (CCPC), attended the Connecticut Architecture Conference & Expo at the Hotel Marcel, the country’s first net zero hotel (seen here). This annual event, hosted earlier this month by the Connecticut chapter of the American Institute of Architects, invites architects and designer professionals to learn about innovations and policies that shape the future of architecture in Connecticut. NRMCA's and Build With Strength's Shamim Rashid-Sumar (seen here) presented The Balanced Approach to Fire Safety: How Concrete Buildings Can Reduce Risk while Rashid-Sumar's colleague Derek Torres of Build With Strength and Dominic Di Cenzo of CCPC manned an exhibition booth to offer their design and educational services.

NRMCA and BWS thanks Di Cenzo of CCPC for donating Zeolli concrete bowties along with concrete-cast miniature replicas of Hotel Marcel to some lucky participants.

Build with Strength offers webinars and courses to architects, engineers, and building and fire code officials as part of its education efforts to promote safety and resiliency and help place more concrete. Click here for more information or contact Derek Torres at dtorres@nrmca.org.
