NRMCA recently partnered with the Maryland Ready Mixed Concrete Association (MRMCA) to present a webinar titled Building Code Fundamentals of Insulated Concrete Forms to the Maryland Building Officials Association (MBOA). The May 26 webinar was presented by NRMCA, Senior Director, Building Innovations, Frank Gordon and Vice President, Fire Codes and Standards, Shamim Rashid-Sumar in partnership with Bob Hackman who represented the Maryland Ready Mixed Concrete Association. Nearly 60 code officials from across the state participated.

The presentation described the basics of ICF systems and their inherent advantages in construction. It also addressed model building code compliance for ICFs and highlighted ICF’s superior fire performance as an exterior wall system for commercial and residential/multi-family structures. This is the first delivery of this presentation and it is intended to present this content to building and fire code officials in other states in the near future.

For more information on hosting this presentation for building and fire code officials or other construction professionals in your state or region (virtually or in person), contact Frank Gordon at fgordon@nrmca.org or Shamim Rashid-Sumar at ssumar@nrmca.org.
