Webinar Analyzes Impending Federal Level Changes in Commercial Driver Training Rules

On February 7, 2022, the rules to earn a CDL change; they could positively affect producers’ mixer driver operations. NRMCA conducted an hour-long webinar with the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration’s (FMCSA) two primary lead specialists about the initiative. The webinar starts with a deep dive into the key provisions of the 2016 ELDT final rule, including who is subject to it and what must done to comply with the rule. Equally important, it includes an in-depth overview of the ELDT Training Provider Registry (TPR). This new federal information technology (I/T) system allows driving schools as well as companies that have their own internal CDL schools to sign up as registered providers. As a registered providers, they will be able to submit their students’ proof of training.
