NRMCA Calls on Congress to Pass Surface Reauthorization Legislation

Print this Article | Send to Colleague

NRMCA joined a host of business organizations in urging the Senate to pass surface reauthorization and infrastructure legislation. Last week, NRMCA and many of our state affiliates signed a letter led by the US Chamber of Commerce, the American Road and Transportation Builders, and the Associated General Contractors to urge Senate leadership to take up the Surface Transportation Reauthorization Act. The letter was also supported by NSSGA, PCA and our other allies.

NRMCA sent a grassroots action alert to its membership urging NRMCA members to call on the Senate to bring up and pass this surface reauthorization (click here to take action). In addition, NRMCA joined the members of the North American Concrete Alliance in sending a letter urging Senate leadership to support the infrastructure framework agreed to by a bipartisan group of senators and the White House. The package will invest $1.2 trillion in infrastructure over eight years. Senate staff are working on drafting the legislation and NRMCA will continue to advocate for a robust, bipartisan infrastructure investment.
