NRMCA and the Northwest Cement Council (NCC) recently joined forces to provide training on concrete intersections and resilient concrete pavements for the engineering staff of the city of Lynden, WA, located about two hours north of Seattle, just south of the Canadian border. NRMCA Vice President, Local Paving, Don Clem, PE, discussed design and construction of concrete intersections and roundabouts while NCC Executive Director Diane Warner, PE, covered resilient concrete pavements, including lower carbon solutions and cement recarbonation. Joining the city public works director and the program manager were several engineers with Reichhardt & Ebe Engineering, Inc., also based in Lynden. The training was organized by Keith Korthius, owner/consultant, P. S. I.
