NRMCA Senior Director, Building Innovations, Chris Dagosta recently helped coordinate a Build With Strength seminar on Insulated Concrete Forms (ICFs) in the Midwest for Nebraska and Iowa professionals interested in the school construction market. The event was held November 1 in Papillion, NE, and was jointly sponsored by the Nebraska Concrete and Aggregates Association (NCAA) and the Iowa Ready Mixed Concrete Association. Dagosta and Randy Daniels of Fox Blocks were the presenters.

"We had a great turnout, opening eyes and turning heads!," said NCAA Promotions Director Jeff Mulder. "Both Nebraska and Iowa received phone calls Monday morning from schools that want more information on ICF’s."

Mulder added that he has been asked to discuss ICFs with Columbus, NE, school officials while Clinton, IA, school officials also requested a presentation. The seminar was aimed at architects, designers, contractors and school officials, with Dagosta and his collegues stressing ICF's high energy efficiency that can save school districts millions of dollars throughout the life of the structure.

Shown here are some of the 46 attendees who learned about ICF school construction, during the seminar and at the construction site. For more information, contact Chris Dagosta at cdagosta@nrmca.org.
