NRMCA Senior Vice President, Local Paving, Phil Kresge recently met with engineers and specifiers at Langley Air Force Base in Hampton, VA. Kresge was the featured speaker at the monthly meeting of the Virginia Peninsula Post of the Society of American Military Engineers (SAME). His presentation, Pervious Concrete: Concrete Solutions for Stormwater Management, was well received, and included a very active question/answer session. Kresge’s participation was facilitated by Hessam Nabavi of the Virginia Ready Mixed Concrete Association (VRMCA).

“Recent changes to the Virginia stormwater regulations have resulted in increased interest in pervious concrete for projects across the state,” says Kresge. “With more attention being paid, in general, to stormwater runoff and specifically to its impact on the Chesapeake Bay, pervious concrete provides a viable solution for developers.”
