Uncle Sam Wants You: Sign the Pledge to America’s Workers!

NRMCA is working with the White House to promote workforce development, job training and skills-based education. Last month, President Trump signed an executive order directing his administration to develop a national strategy for creating and promoting workforce development through skills-based training and partnerships with private employers, educational institutions and non-profit organizations like NRMCA. As part of this initiative, the White House is calling on America’s employers to pledge to train and retrain its current and existing workforce through the Pledge to the America’s Workers. Across America, companies like IBM, Walmart, Lockheed Martin, FedEx and Home Depot are signing.

NRMCA applauds the White House’s efforts to highlight the importance of this critically important issue. Every year NRMCA members report turning away business because they do not have the trained and available workforce to handle all of the potential jobs.

Consequently, NRMCA is working with the White House to raise awareness of the importance of workforce development, and to promote the Pledge to the America’s Workers, encouraging NRMCA member companies to commit to training and retraining its future and existing workforce over the next five years. The Trump Administration will be conducting workforce-related events across the country and companies that have signed the Pledge will be invited to attend and participate in events with the President and members of the cabinet.
