Print this Article | Send to Colleague

A new topic in the NRMCA Technology in Practice (TIP) series is now available: TIP 19 – Reuse of Returned Concrete provides general guidance and options used in the industry to manage returned concrete. This TIP also discusses the option for top loading materials on a returned load to generate a new load, with the  cautions that are necessary to ensure that concrete meets the purchaser's requirements. The details of a new ASTM specification on returned concrete, ASTM C1798, are outlined in this TIP.

TIPs are developed by the NRMCA Research Engineering and Standards (RES) Committee and are intended as an educational resource for ready mixed concrete industry personnel. Each of the TIPs can be previewed on NRMCA's Web site.
