The Delaware Department of Transpiration, along with one of its consultants, Johnson, Mirmiran & Thompson, Inc. (JMT), has been working with NRMCA Senior Director, Local Paving, Ken Justice, on developing design and jointing plans, and specifications for several roadway projects throughout the state, including 2.5 miles of Elkton Road in Newark; 1.2 miles of Marsh Road in Wilmington and 1.4 miles of State Road 141 in New Castle. In addition, the engineers at JMT were asked to design two pervious concrete parking lots for DelDOT, including a 35-space lot and a 90-space lot.

Justice will be conducting pervious concrete design classes for JMT and will assist with the design of these projects. Brad Herb and Charles Gable (pictured above) of JMT are leading the DelDOT efforts. In the past 24 months, DelDOT has continued to see the value in designing and constructing pavements in concrete, Justice reports.
