NRMCA Seeks to Identify RCC Pavement Projects

Print this Article | Send to Colleague

NRMCA is working with the RCC Promotion and Education Council to identify Roller Compacted Concrete pavement projects across the United States. "Specifically, we are trying to identify RCC projects completed between 2014 and 2016," says NRMCA Vice President, Local Paving, Phil Kresge. "Large or small, we’re interested in everything."

The projects will be added to the database created through surveys that were conducted in 2010 and 2014 by Dr. David Pittman, US Army Corps of Engineers, and Corey Zollinger of NRMCA Producer member CEMEX, respectively. The information obtained in those surveys has proven to be very useful to the industry. Keeping the database current will be even more beneficial. Once the data is compiled, the RCC Council will prepare a paper summarizing the information.

Project information being requested includes the name, location and owner of the project; year of construction; paving contractor, pavement application (parking lot/roadway/shoulder etc.), pavement area (in square yards) and thickness, paver type and surface finish (natural/diamond grind/troweled/asphalt overlay). "We’d love to have all the information on every project, but we know that may be difficult," Kresge said. "We’ll take whatever information you can share."

To submit project information or for more details, contact Phil Kresge at pkresge@nrmca.org.
