MIT Concrete Sustainability Hub to Hold Public Webinars in March on Pavement Research

The MIT Concrete Sustainability Hub (CSHub) is offering a series of free, public Webinars throughout 2017 that discuss topics related to the CSHub’s pavements research. The first, to be held on March 2, will provide an overview of the CSHub’s pavements research; the second, to be held on March 30, will take a closer look at "Pavements Life Cycle Cost Analysis (LCCA): Price Projection Modeling." Both will take place at 11 a.m. Eastern time.

 

Research at the MIT Concrete Sustainability Hub is focused on three main areas: materials science; buildings and pavements; and economics and the environment. For pavements, CSHub research focuses on improving structure and design that can result in increased fuel efficiency, lower maintenance costs and better life cycle planning. The public Webinars, which are planned to take place on a nearly monthly basis through September, will typically alternate monthly between buildings and pavements research topics. Webinars are free and open to the public, but registration is required.

 

The Webinars offer information of general interest to members of the building, paving and construction communities, as well as to journalists and law and policy-makers who are interested in the environmental and economic impacts of decision-making concerning infrastructure. The 2017 series opened on January 26 with a Webinar presenting an overview of the CSHub’s buildings-related research and concludes September 14 with a Webinar discussing albedo and urban energy consumption.
