NRMCA Producer member Chandler Concrete of Wilmington, NC, recently held a sales meeting to engage its team on NRMCA's Build with Strength campaign. President Ted Chandler made it clear with his opening remarks that Chandler Concrete will closely align its company’s promotion strategies with the campaign. For starters, the company’s new business cards will carry the Build With Strength logo. The sales team will also make the Concrete Design Center information available to customers; help them identify leads for NRMCA’s building promotions team to engage; and offer its Design Assistance Program. In fact, during the meeting, Chandler Concrete’s sales team provided a list of developers and contractors complete with contact information to NRMCA Senior Director for Building Innovations Gregg Lewis who presented to the group.

"I think what Chandler Concrete is doing is an excellent model for what all NRMCA members could be doing," Lewis explained. "If every member provided us with just two or three names of developers it knows or made those introductions, we would make great headway toward turning back the wood industry’s threat to our members’ bottom line."

Lewis’ presentation to Chandler’s sales team outlined the challenges the ready mix industry faces and the opportunities available to them to turn the tide against the encroachments of the wood industry into their markets. Vice President Bob Chandler noted after the meeting, "Gregg certainly drove the point home about how serious our fight is against wood in low to mid-rise buildings. Our sales staff now knows where they can go for help in promoting concrete in many of these projects."

NRMCA has a Concrete Design Center that can work with developers to provide concrete solutions to building projects. Visit www.BuildWithStrength.com or contact Gregg Lewis at glewis@nrmca.org or 540-529-3893.
