Concrete Road in Arkansas Nominated for Historic Designation

Little River County, AR, was dominated by gravel and dirt roads during the Great Depression, but paving U.S. Highway 71 in concrete changed the transportation path and regional economy. Two segments of U.S. Highway 71 paved in concrete nearly 80 years ago and still carrying traffic have been nominated to be included on the National Register of Historic Places.
