NPMA ePestWorld

Ladders are a common piece of equipment found in nearly every workplace and are considered harmless, yet thousands of people are killed or injured yearly due to ladder and fall-related accidents. The numbers speak for themselves- over 500,000 people are treated each year for ladder falls; there are over 300 deaths from ladder falls each year; there is an estimated $24 billion spent annually in the U.S. for work loss, medical, legal, liability, and pain and suffering due to falls.

Attend the Safety Summit and learn about risk prevention, fall protection, and how it relates to the pest management industry in the breakout session: Attics & Crawl Spaces: Confined Spaces & Fall Protection.

Heard From the Hill

NPMA staff have continued meeting with key stakeholders on Capitol Hill to discuss our legislative priorities. This week, we met with the House Agriculture Committee majority staff, Senate Agriculture Committee minority staff, the office of Rep. Sanford Bishop (D-GA-02), and the office of Rep. Jim Baird (R-IN-04). During our meetings, we provided staff with background information on our pesticide preemption efforts to-date, and also socialized the importance of including state-level pesticide preemption in the 2023 Farm Bill.

News From National

Legislative Day is next week; this is your last chance to participate in this vital program at a lower price. Pricing will increase if you register onsite next week.

PPMA launches @PestWorldOfficial Instagram Profile

The Professional Pest Management Alliance (PPMA), the consumer marketing arm of NPMA, has developed a strong presence on social media over the years to educate the public about the value of partnering with a pest control professional to help protect their health, homes and businesses.

Social media channels like Facebook, Twitter, TikTok, Pinterest and Instagram are forms of shared media which allows PPMA to craft its own messaging and communicate directly with curated and engaged audiences. In its most recent PPMA Update, a monthly newsletter shared with investors, PPMA shared that its @PestWorld consumer-facing social media properties garnered over 815,500 organic impressions in February - that’s a 72% increase YoY. Content on the pages highlighted seasonal pests including spiders, termites and cockroaches. On TikTok, there was high consumer interest in a silverfish video, which now has nearly 230,000 views and counting!

PPMA also shared the launch of PestWorld’s new Instagram profile @PestWorldOfficial! On the platform, they’ll be sharing fun and timely pest-related Reels video content and engaging with a new audience. Check out the profile, share these Reels on your profiles and give it a follow if you haven’t already!
