Heard From the Hill
Text was released late in the evening on 2/8, and committees began marking up a new COVID package on 2/10. Democrats have indicated they want this package done prior to March 14th, as that is when some programs expire. The bill is widely expected to pass, although some provisions may be added or removed. This bill is not final, and significant changes can be made in either the House or Senate, or during the conference process. It is also important to note that text has been released piecemeal, so additional tranches of text may be forthcoming. Read the full breakdown.

Pest management professionals are naturally philanthropic in their efforts to protect the communities they serve, and we’ve heard many stories of how our members have positively impacted their local communities during the pandemic. NPMA is working on compiling an industry feel-good video to showcase during Legislative Day next month. If you have any videos or photos of your team giving back to the community over the past year we’d be happy to include them in this project. Please submit them to Rachel Dittman (rdittman@pestworld.org) no later than February 25.

Each year, NPMA works diligently to identify and recruit members to serve on our association’s standing committees and interest groups. In an effort to foster fresh ideas and allow all NPMA members to share their expertise, we are calling on you to nominate yourself or pass this survey along to an industry colleague to serve on an NPMA committee or interest group. Your involvement and leadership will help us chart a successful future for the association and the industry. Final decisions will be made by the end of May and communicated at the beginning of June in time for the committee cycle which begins July 1st.
