SMASH Act

Senators Angus King (I-ME), Marco Rubio (R-FL), Nelson (D-FL) and Richard Burr (R-NC) recently reintroduced the Strengthening Mosquito Abatement for Safety and Health (SMASH) Act, which would reauthorize funds to strengthen mosquito control programs, research and tools. NPMA has worked with Senator King’s office over the past month in anticipation of the introduction of the SMASH Act. NPMA, along with the American Mosquito Control Association and the Entomological Society of America are listed as endorsers of the SMASH Act in Senator King’s press release. The Senate Committee on Health Education Labor and Pensions will hold a hearing tomorrow and the SMASH Act is on the agenda for discussion.
