NPMA Continues Work on EPA’s Proposed Interim Decisions (PIDs) on Rodenticides

NPMA and its member companies have been working to better understand the intent of EPA’s PIDs on Rodenticides. We are currently working with the Public Policy Committee to determine if there are alternative, common-sense mitigation strategies that achieve the goals of EPA and minimize the potential burden on the pest management industry.

In preparation for the Agency’s Interim Decision, PMPs should be reviewing the definitions of “direct supervision” in the states they operate in to determine if a certified applicator needs to be physically present at the site of the application to apply or supervise the application of RUPs. In states that require onsite supervision, pest management companies should be preparing to “right-size” their certified applicator workforce to meet demand increases caused by the potential classification of rodenticides as RUPs.
