Group also promotes the value of partnering with professional firms with commercial audiences

The Professional Pest Management Alliance (PPMA), the consumer marketing arm of NPMA, leads the charge on educating Americans on the threats posed by pests and the importance of working with a pest control professional through its consumer media relations efforts.

During the height of pest season, PPMA’s outreach is imperative as consumers are actively seeking information about pests and how to handle infestations. In its most recent PPMA Update, a monthly newsletter shared with investors and supporters, the group reported May media coverage highlights, which included articles on  U.S. News & World Report and MSN Health & Fitness.

PPMA also worked throughout the month to spread the word about ticks during its second annual Tick Awareness Week. PennLive.com featured TickTalk.org in an article while Insider also highlighted the microsite as a resource in one article and provided information on Lyme disease in another. Staten Island Advance Online included information from NPMA’s Tick Awareness Week press release in two online articles as well as a print article. IndyStar shared information about ticks found in the state of Indiana in an article that was picked up by several local outlets, including Journal & Courier Online, South Bend Tribune Online, Herald-Times Online and Palladium-Item Online.

Additional coverage included an article on Realtor.com about squirrel infestations and an article on Martha Stewart Living featuring NPMA insight about fruit flies.

PPMA’s team also secured coverage recapping National Pest Management Month in commercial publications Green Lodging News and CleanLink.
