CT SB 239 Would Ban SGARs

Print Print this Article | Send to Colleague

Connecticut has two bills currently in the legislature that would significantly harm the industry. The second is SB 239 which would ban second generation anticoagulant rodenticides (SGARs) as of October 1, 2022. This bill is scheduled for a hearing on Monday, March 7th. Several CTPCA members will testify. NPMA also has an active VoterVoice with over 110 messages already sent asking for exemption from the industry. This bill appears to be substantially similar to the California rodenticide ban, and the industry is very prepared to explain the public health effects if SGARs are banned in CT. Cosponsors include Rep. David Michel, 146th Dist. and Rep. Josh Elliott, 88th Dist.
