H. 7425 would ban ALL neonicotinoids in Rhode Island and even possession of neonics would be illegal under the proposed bill. Luckily, RI SPAR Ted Brayton represented NEPMA and testified before the RI House Environment and Natural Resources Committee in opposition to the bill. Mr. Brayton asserted: "This bill would make it harder to manage bed bugs in hotel rooms, cockroaches and flies in food processing facilities, grocery stores, and restaurants, mosquitoes, and ticks in backyards..." Thanks to Ted's excellent testimony and widespread opposition from other industry groups, the bill was held back by the Committee for further study! Read NEPMA's testimony here.
