Last week, NPMA met with EPA to discuss ideas developed by structural fumigant registrants regarding minimum fumigant stewardship and applicator training program elements.  Additionally, NPMA shared an inventory of fumigant clearance device information compiled by the NPMA Fumigation Committee.  NPMA will continue to be a resource for EPA as they work on responding to the recommendations found in the  EPA Office of Inspector General’s report released on December 12, 2016.  The NPMA Fumigation committee is continuing to work on developing new approaches regarding fumigation security and safety measures, as well as fumigation safety and compliance documentation that will help to ensure that label directions are adhered to, and appropriate procedures are documented.  Additional conversations and meetings are planned with EPA over the coming weeks and months.
