Last week, NPMA - in conjunction with the Pesticide Policy Coalition (PPC) - made a final push with Congressional offices to request $128.3 million in fiscal year (FY) 2018 for the Office of Pesticide Programs (OPP) to enable critical activities under the Pesticide Registration and Improvement Act (PRIA). The deadline for Member requests to the Interior, Environment and Related Agencies Subcommittee was March 30.  Congress will now begin the appropriations process for FY 2018 within the appropriations subcommittees. Submitting requests by multiple and bipartisan members of Congress highlights the need for OPP funding.  NPMA had several meetings and sent letters to a diverse group of members urging their individual appropriations request and/or signing onto a "dear colleague" letter sent by Rep. Yoho and Rep. Panetta to the Chairman and Ranking members of the Appropriations Subcommittee on Interior, Environment and Related Agencies.
