Pyrethroid Update

NPMA has been working closely with representatives from the Pyrethroid Working Group (PWG) as these products undergo registration review. In December, NPMA hosted over 30 Federal and State Regulators at the headquarters office in Fairfax, VA to demonstrate how Pyrethroids are used by structural applicators to control numerous pests, including mosquitoes. Originally the comment period for Pyrethroids was intended to close earlier this year. As the Trump administration took office they put in place a general regulatory freeze and the docket on Pyrethroids was subsequently closed on January 30. NPMA anticipates the docket will be re-opened in the next several weeks and that EPA intends to provide an additional 60 days at that point to submit comments. Policy Staff are crafting comments on behalf of the association and will also supply members with talking points and templates that can be used to submit comments on behalf of your company. For more information on Pyrethroids contact us at publicpolicy@pestworld.org.
