 Thank you ...

... to all METALfab attendees

... to all METALfab sponsors

... to all METALfab exhibitors

... to all of our METALfab members

... to all of our NOMMA Board members and staff

We wouldn't be able to celebrate a successful METALfab and our 65th anniversary without all of you. You helped all of us to shine!

And it’s never too early to be looking forward to next year! Mark your calendar for January 23-26, 2024, in the Country Music Capital of the World – Nashville!

.

Our Show Special from METALfab is effective through March 31. If you didn’t get a chance to join at the show, you still have a couple of weeks left.

Choose from one of these two specials:

  • Choice 1: $65 discount off the price of membership if you join at METALfab
  • Choice 2: Two free months of membership! That’s like getting 14 months of membership for the cost of 12!

Have questions about membership or need help getting signed up? Please contact the NOMMA Staff at (888) 516-8585 or info@nomma.org.

Thank you to all of our METALfab 2023 exhibitors and sponsors! You were instrumental in making this year’s event a huge success. In order to get your take on how it went, we sent out a post-show exhibitor & sponsor survey. By completing this, you not only help us improve our event for both our exhibitors and our attendees, but you also receive one additional priority point.

Priority points are used in determining your position in the METALfab 2024 space selection order. Space selection is scheduled to be held in early April after we have implemented our new floor plan and contracting software. We will send out more information on this as soon as it is available.

Didn’t exhibit at METALfab 2023 in Oklahoma City but still want to exhibit in Nashville next year? Please send an email to METALfab@nomma.org and we will put you on the list.

At the Annual Membership Business Meeting on March 1, the membership voted to approve three new Fabricator Directors and one Industry Partner Director to the NOMMA Board of Directors. Please welcome them and thank them for serving.

Kim Nosbich
Kym Nosbisch
Kym Nosbisch, Industry Partner Director: As a marketer in the building materials category for 25 years, Kym has been blessed with the honor of being involved in several organizations either through volunteer or tradeshows. She is passionate about the ornamental and miscellaneous metals industry and genuinely cares about its growth. Her career demonstrates this and throughout the different sub industries within the building products category.

Wade Ranck
Wade Ranck, Fabricator Director: Wade Ranck has been a NOMMA member since 2006 and has worked in the metals industry since 1984. He has been self-employed in the ornamental iron business for 27 years. Wade has been an active member of the Upper Midwest Chapter, most recently serving as the chapter president.

Peter Way
Peter Way, Fabricator Director: Peter has worked in a family fabrication business for 30 plus years. He bought Angelo & Son Iron Works in 2006 from his father. With the help of NOMMA, Peter has learned how to become a better businessman and a better fabricator. Peter has volunteered with his local chapter and assisted in other NOMMA committee work.

Mark Whalen
Mark Whalen, Fabricator Director: Mark Whalen has a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering from Virginia Tech, and an M.B.A. from James Madison University. He has three years’ experience as Quality Network Strategy Team methods analyst for General Motors, and experience as project manager for Shickel Corporation since 2006. Mark was manager of engineering from 2017 to 2019, and has been vice president of project management since 2019.

At the Annual Membership Business meeting on March 1, NOMMA also recognized one board member who concluded his service to the Board of Directors.

Stephen Boyler
brought a unique perspective to the board. He had the benefit of historical knowledge from his father and uncle, who are both past NOMMA presidents, but he also understood and supported the need to change.

Stephen also served as a board liaison during his tenure.

Thank you, Stephen, for helping to keep NOMMA moving forward.

Ever been working on a project, and you get stuck because you don’t know how to proceed? Don’t get stuck! Look to the NOMMA Exchange, our online community for help and answers! The NOMMA Exchange has been recently redesigned to make searching for topics and previous posts simple and easy.

Tony Mertens, of T & W Fabricating, New Holstein, Wis., who made a post recently asking for help, said that assistance on just one of his projects is “worth the price of admission.”

Here are some of the most recent discussions you may have missed:

  • Assistance needed on the restoration of a 19th-century fence
  • Looking for a vendor to provide the perforated panel for 200 feet of stainless interior railings
  • Looking for a machine shop that can turn some aluminum collars for an aluminum gate
  • And more!

Access NOMMA Exchange today to see what you may have missed. If you have questions about the new NOMMA Exchange, please contact the NOMMA Staff at 888.516.8585 or info@nomma.org.
