PERFECTING YOUR ESTIMATE PROCESS – In our line of work, estimates are the first step of every project, because they can make or break what happens next. When calculating an estimate for a project, ask yourself: "Is this job the right fit for me?"; "Do the timeline, schedule and scope of tasks align together?"; "Does this project need to be bonded?" These are all important factors to your business when calculating the perfect estimate. You want to make sure that you are being both practical and realistic all while ensuring that you can deliver against your estimate. If your estimate is both fair and matches your work and professionalism, this can help your business tremendously. Make sure your quote includes all details from top to bottom, inclusions and exclusions, and always allow lead time for outsource services. Be sure to join us for next month’s Roundtable Discussion on July 11 at 3 p.m. Eastern Time/ 2 p.m. Central Time. Is there a topic you’d like to discuss in a future Roundtable Discussion? If so, please share it with us by emailing your thoughts to info@nomma.org.
