So you’ve decided to move your IT data and infrastructure to the cloud. You’re not alone. More than one-third of contractors surveyed in 2014 rely on cloud computing for myriad reasons. They depend on it for backup and disaster recovery services, to access cloud-based software and to outsource computer storage, hardware, services or network components, among other reasons.

Precast concrete pushing the design aesthetic envelope
Precast/Prestressed Concrete Institute
Folded or flat? The Universal Alloy light press plant demonstrates how an innovative designer can create a beautiful design using a precast concrete building solution. Alternating shaded and light panels give the impression an accordion-like fašade. The panels are insulated and load-bearing, making the onsite installation of this awe-inspiring structure quicker, and avoiding costly weather delays.

AGC is still asking you – our members – to predict what next year will be like for your business. The answers to the 2015 AGC Business Outlook survey will help us craft a full analysis and outlook for the construction industry in the New Year.  Questions focus on expectations for market performance, hiring, labor market conditions, plans to acquire equipment, etc.  Please take a moment to complete the survey here at https://www.surveymonkey.com/s/2015AGCBusinessOutlook. After we receive a sufficient amount of survey responses, we will work with AGC’s chief economist Ken Simonson to analyze the results, which will be released in early January to the media and members. As in the past, we will also prepare state-specific outlooks for every state where we have a sufficiently robust response.  Thanks in advance for all your help and support, and please contact Brian Turmail at turmailb@agc.org with any questions.
Constructor magazine is currently working on its 2015 editorial calendar. Stories planned include disaster recovery, drones in construction and cybersecurity. If you have experience in any of these areas and would like to be considered a source for a feature article, please contact Jeanie Clapp at jclapp@naylor.com today.
