PDF Printing

Q. I’m sure several people in this forum have dealt with PDF drawings that for whatever reason won’t print. As an example I have a one-page document of a hill with some trees and buildings that looks like multiple layers stacked on top of each other to create the one page. No matter what I try my HP plotter will sit there forever saying "receiving" and nothing ever comes out. Does anyone have some advice to move on from these problematic docs?

A. Since I'm sure you've tried setting 'print as image' under advanced settings. The best I can suggest is trying to export or save as an image (i.e jpg or png) and print the image.  Also, strangely, using a PCL driver vs PS driver has worked on some of our problem files.

Good luck!

A. Try using Acrobat to "print" the file then try sending that new pdf to the HP it worked for me on an OfficeJet  HP.

A. I already tried the print to image and export to jpeg but could not get the file to print. As suggested I went to the website but the HP 1055CM printer did not have a PCL driver to replace the PS driver it’s currently using. The HP site did have a GL2 driver which I installed on the print server and SUCCESS! I was able to get the document to print and print much faster.

Thanks everyone for the suggestion.
