#1. Laser Scanning - Is it Here to Stay?
The use of laser scanners on the construction site is becoming more commonplace. With the ability to measure distances with pinpoint accuracy, laser scanners are being increasingly used by a variety of contractors for multiple purposes.
  1. Are you using laser scanners on your project?
  2. If so, how and why are you using them?
  3. Are they being used to fulfill a new set of requirements?
  4. Are they replacing the work of a person?
  5. Are they cost effective?
  6. Will you be using scanners on future projects?

If you are using laser scanners, we'd like to hear about it and we'd bet that others would as well. Specifically, we'd like to know: what hardware/software you're using, how and why you're using scanners, costs, barriers to usage, did the usage of the scanner meet your expectations, will you use them on future projects, did you learn anything that can be applied to your next usage?

#2. Are Drones on the Construction Site Ready for Prime Time?
Unmanned aerial vehicles (UAV), aka, drones, are all over the news lately. With uses as diverse as bombing enemies in a war zone, to monitoring crops on a farm, to use on construction sites, drones are definitely making their mark.
