AGC is coordinating a volunteer day with a local charity group, Give Kids the World Village – which provides all-expense-paid week-long vacations for families with terminally ill children.
The Village houses the families and entertains them in their theme-park-like whimsical nonprofit resort which includes rides, movies, an ice cream parlor, pizza palace, mini-golf, pools, a train, etc. Give Kids the World also provides families with free tickets to Disney World, Universal, and Sea World.
The facility has a number of maintenance needs, including rebuilding an aging safety fence around the main pond and rehabbing the bathrooms at one of the pools. Volunteers will be transported to the site to do some relatively simple repair work overseen by experts with a local member firm, given tours of the facility, fed lunch, and transported back to the hotel at the end of the day.
