Bill Ratz Memorial Topgolf Challenge

At Topgolf, “Everyone’s game!” Take a swing, score some points, share a laugh … all for a great cause. The 2019 Bill Ratz Memorial golf tournament is going Topgolf. You don’t have to be a serious golfer to join the fun, but serious golfers will have the opportunity to compete head to head (and in teams) for a great list of prizes and a chance to take home the Bill Ratz Memorial Topgolf title. Plus, everyone has the chance to win $10,000 in our hole-in-one competition. Food and drinks will again be par for the course (21 and over for alcohol – ID required), so come join the fun and help us raise money to support the AGC Education & Research Foundation.

AGC in the Community Awards

AGC in the Community is an initiative of AGC Charities Inc., designed to showcase the community service projects of AGC of America’s chapters and members. The awards recognize chapter and member service projects that epitomize the essence of charitable giving, through actual hands-on service and donations to charitable organizations.

Open to all convention attendees … the event of the year happens right here! Last year more than 1,300 attendees rocked New Orleans for the Celebrate Construction Party at Mardi Gras World. With four different musical performers, some amazing NOLA cuisine and a great venue, the 2018 Celebrate Construction Party set a new bar for the AGC Convention. So how are we going to elevate things this year? Take the party to Denver obviously. Be sure and make plans to attend the 2019 Celebrate Construction Party at the Ellie Caulkins Opera House. Built in 1908, this multi-level feat of construction will provide the perfect backdrop for an evening of music, dancing, food and cocktails.

At  Tuesday's General Session, AGC held its second annual Diversity & Inclusion Awards, sponsored by Willis Towers Watson. The association bestowed excellence awards to Austin Commercial in the large contractor category; Shoemaker Construction in the mid-sized contractor category; Central Builders in the small contractor category; and United Rentals for a service or supply firm. The Diversity & Inclusion Chapter Award went to AGC of Missouri. Ujamaa Construction was named the Diverse Business of the Year. In addition, AGC President Eddie Stewart bestowed the Chair of the Year award to Frank Wilson, chair of the Diversity & Inclusion Council for the incredible work he's done with the D&I initiative.
 
 
   
The Construction Risk Partners Build America Awards took place at lunch on Tuesday and bestowed 12 merit awards and 26 Construction Risk Partners Build America Awards to projects that have excelled in state-of-the-art achievement, excellence in project management, innovation, superior client service, and more. Considered the construction industry’s ‘Oscars,’ these awards are given to projects selected by a panel of contractors that represent the best new and renovation construction projects in 14 different categories. National Veterans Memorial and Museum, by contractor Turner Construction Company, was deemed the most impressive construction project of 2018 and named the 2019 Construction Risk Partners Build America Grand Award winner.
